Speaker 1:

I'm Carla Reeves, and this is Differently. Whether you feel stuck in survival, navigating a change, or seeking more for your life, may this podcast be your weekly nudge to take a risk to build a life that is uniquely bold, authentic and in alignment with your deepest values. What if you worried less about the bumps in the road and instead got equipped for the journey? Get ready to rethink what's possible. Hey, differently listener, I'm so glad you're back and, if you're new to the show, thank you for showing up and tuning in. For the past few weeks on the podcast, I've been getting back to basics around thought management and the role it plays in leading our life and living our story. Today, I want to take that conversation in a slightly new and honestly exciting direction. We're going to talk about waking up your inner artists. You might be thinking, carla, I'm not artistic at all. Believe you me, I thought that too for years. And here's the thing Creativity isn't just about painting masterpieces or sewing or writing novels. It's about how we approach our everyday lives, our challenges and, yes, even our thoughts. God is the master creator. That's what I believe. The ultimate artist, and the Bible says that we're made in God's image. How cool is that that means we are creative. You've probably heard me say I spent years feeling trapped and at the mercy of my circumstances and what was getting checked off my list and living for the next high of what I could accomplish. Not a lot of creativity there. I spent the last 20 plus years learning how we can be creative and how our life is an invitation every day to creative adventure. Think about it. When was the last time you allowed yourself to play with possibility to color outside of the lines of your usual thinking? They say we have like 60,000 thoughts a day. How many of those are just rote ritual, that same old path that you travel down over and over and over again? And how is that impacting your life? Remember, one of the differently principles of thought management is that your thoughts shade your experience. I want you to imagine this like you are wearing a pair of glasses as you go through life, relationships, business, whatever it is, and those pair of glasses are shaded by your thoughts Today, your thoughts you've been carrying around for weeks or maybe even years, because our thoughts shade our experience and because we are to be in charge of our thoughts. That was last week's episode. You can tune in. It was called Leadership. Differently, we have a creative spirit that we can call upon to transform the way we see and interact with the world around us. I've been revisiting some of my favorite books on this topic, and this is from Viktor Frankl.

Speaker 1:

When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. One of my roles as a coach is to help my clients think differently, to interrupt that pattern or that loop of thinking that often has been around for lots and lots of years, and maybe it helped us at one time, but today it's the very thing that's in our way. It's my job to help you pull that apart and, just like Viktor Frankl's quote, I'm looking for is this an opportunity to change? Is there a way to change the current situation that has you feeling stuck? Can we change the situation itself, or is this an opportunity to change ourself? And sometimes it is an opportunity to change and rise to a new level within yourself, and other times this friction is stirring in the environment, circumstance, to move you in a new direction. We explore this together.

Speaker 1:

When we find ourselves stuck in our own thinking loops. We're stuck in the weeds right in front of us, and my job is to help you start to approach these challenges with creativity and curiosity. Instead of seeing all the problems as walls, you start to learn how to see them as opportunities or canvases for new, fresh solutions. Here's what fascinates me. The moment we start thinking of ourselves as creators rather than reactors, everything shifts. Your morning routine becomes a blank canvas. You can create whatever you want. That difficult conversation that you're about to have becomes a chance to compose something new, to create a new path. Even your challenges become materials for creating something better, something more meaningful.

Speaker 1:

So here's my invitation to you today. What if you approached the next 24 hours as an artist? What if every thought you chose was a brush stroke on the canvas of your day? Start small. Maybe it's writing your morning thought in a new shade. Perhaps it's taking a new route to work and really noticing and paying attention to what you see. Or it could simply be asking yourself what if something better is on the way when you feel that friction or that struggle around an obstacle or a challenge in front of you. Remember, your thoughts aren't just creating your experience. They're creating your story, and the question is what kind of artist are you going to be and what story, will you tell. I'm on a mission to help you break free of old patterns so that you can write your true story. You can now come do this with us, with support, inspiration and accountability at a super affordable price, because we're still in the very early stages of developing.
