Monthly mindset check-ins help us stay committed to our goals when many people start giving up. March is the perfect time to recommit to what we set out to create this year instead of falling into the valley of disappointment.

• Tending to our mindset is like gardening – we must regularly show up to pull weeds and nurture what we want to grow
• The waiting time between planting seeds and seeing them bloom is equally important as the action steps
• How we observe and interact with the world has creative power to change our realities
• Resistance to our goals may actually be an invitation to go deeper
• Small, aligned actions over time create the big shifts we desire

Journal questions to reflect on:
• What vision did you set out to pursue this year, and how has your relationship with it evolved?
• Where are you feeling resistance or disappointment around your goal?
• What would be possible if you stayed fiercely committed to your vision all year, regardless of setbacks?

If you're bumping up against blind spots or barriers, schedule a free call with me through the link in the show notes to get clear on your next step. Share this episode with someone who might need it and subscribe for new episodes weekly.

Speaker 1:

I've been helping people get unstuck and out of survival mode since 2010. And I've learned that one of the most powerful things we can do is to regularly check in with our mind. It's like tending a garden we need to constantly show up and pull the weeds and nurture what we want to grow in our lives. These monthly check-ins are designed to help you do just that To pause, reflect and intentionally shape your mindset. They're a chance for us to slow down together and examine what's happening in our minds, because what's happening in our minds is shaping everything about our lives, and whether you're a longtime listener or this is your first mindset check-in, you're in the right place. I'm going to guide you through some powerful questions to help you understand where your mind is and how to steer it in the direction you want to go. Remember, I'm not just here as your guide. I'm doing the work alongside you, because managing our thought lives is not a once and done thing. It's an ongoing practice and I'm hoping that these episodes start to get you in that practice, and I'm hoping that these episodes start to get you in that practice. So grab your favorite beverage, find a quiet spot or settle into your drive and let's dive into today's mindset check in together.

Speaker 1:

First of all, we hosted our second free class this month. It has been so rich and so much fun. It's virtual. You can tune in from anywhere. Consider joining us for March. The topic this month is about getting unstuck and finding your mojo again. We're going to talk a little bit about that today, in the spirit of this mindset check-in. Last month, we covered ways to get creative, to navigate big feelings like overwhelm, and one of the things I shared that I came across from Dr Lee Warren, who runs the Self Brain Surgery podcast a really great podcast, but he said how we observe and interact with the world around us has creative power to change the realities in which we live, and that humans flourish when they change their minds. And that just inspires me so much, because that is what we teach here, too, in this mindset check-in.

Speaker 1:

I want you to think about here we are in March, if you're listening live I want you to think about what did you set out to create this year? Because this is the time where people get stuck and we often give up, and I'm on a mission to ensure that you practice throughout the year so you can carry your goals that you set out with and we're so excited about all the way through the year. And this is the time where we can hit that valley of disappointment and turn away and give up. So this is the moment for doing differently, and this is where it is so, so important. What if this time? What if this year, you doubled down on your goal instead? What if this year, you stayed committed to keeping that vision in front of you all year long? If not you? Who's going to do that? Who's going to go all in on the dream or that, knowing that you have in your heart? If you don't, please know that I too bump up against the valley of disappointment. I've been doing it just this week, wondering where all my efforts are headed on certain days, or wondering when our son's going to get some news on his next step.

Speaker 1:

It can be hard, after you've started planting seeds in your life, to then wait for them to bloom. But the waiting time, the time in between, is equally, if not more, important, and I want you to think about what are you doing in the waiting? What's the energy you're showing up with? How are you approaching your everyday in the waiting? Are you bringing that kind of energy that's going to be required when things start blooming? All of it matters.

Speaker 1:

So I set out with one word this year, which was shine. How about you? Did you choose a word at the beginning of the year? Or did a word choose you? Or was it a goal or a dream you had, or was it taking something you were already doing to new heights? Maybe it was a relationship, your business, a project, maybe it was something related to your health and wellbeing. This is the time to revisit and refocus and align your actions again. Remember, it's not the falling off or falling off track that matters, it's the getting back on and it's those small, little aligned actions over time that create those big shifts that you desire. We are creatives. We were made and designed, I believe, by the master creator, god, and the Bible says we are made in his image. So we have this innate ability. So this is the work, this is the practice.

Speaker 1:

I want to give you some questions to take to your journal or take to a notebook or have some quiet reflection time. The first one is what vision or dream did you set out to pursue this year? Did you set out to pursue this year, and how has your relationship with it evolved or changed? I want you to really take a minute to remember that initial spark, that fire in your belly that you felt, something that lit you up. Sometimes we need to reconnect with that. Actually, not sometimes all the time. We need to reconnect with that. Why? Often in order to reignite and maintain the momentum.

Speaker 1:

Question number two where are you currently feeling resistance or disappointment around that goal or thing you set out to do? I want to challenge you to think about what if this resistance is actually an invitation to go deeper? You to think about what if this resistance is actually an invitation to go deeper? What if this thing that's bubbling up in your life is actually the breakthrough you need to go all in on your vision. I know, in the face of my one word shine that everything that can't live inside of that has been bubbling up. I want you to get excited about this. I want you to move through these things, because if you can move through the barrier or the blind spot, then you have more access to go all in what you set out to do. Last question what would be possible if you stayed fiercely committed to your vision for the entire year, regardless of the little bumps or hiccups or setbacks? So those are your questions this month.

Speaker 1:

Give yourself the gift of taking some time to just reflect and check in. Where's your mind in relationship to what you set out to do this year and how can you get it back on track and in alignment so that you can move with greater joy, ease and flow. And remember if you want support or feel like you're bumping up against a blind spot that you just can't bump past on your own. This is what I do. I would love to support you in breaking through those blind spots and barriers so that you can build a life or build your business, or build that relationship and live free. There is a link to a free call in the show notes. If you're curious as to how working together could impact your life, schedule some time with me. This is not a sales pitch. This is a conversation to help you get clear on your next step, whether it's with me or something else entirely. This call alone can be a much needed reset. It would be an honor to support you In closing.

Speaker 1:

Let's get good at the mindset check-in, this caring for your thought life. It is so vital and so important. It's a practice, not a perfect.
